Who among us does not enjoy the intoxicating smell of fresh espresso on the morning? Even if espresso is not the personal choice on the coffee menu, no coffee lover is not easily addicted to the smell of the popular drink.

In fact, for those who do not know, espresso is not a particular type of coffee but a unique method of making coffee that is performed using an espresso machine whose first versions were invented as early as the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

To this day, the inventor of the drink has not been unequivocally crowned, but its preparation has been documented among French, Italian and German inventors since the beginning of the 19th century.

At the beginning of the 20th century, espresso became a particularly popular drink in Italy thanks to the control of coffee prices at the time.

At that time, the drink was served as usual today in local espresso bars and its consumption was usually done while standing next to the bar – since drinking the drink while standing was a condition for controlling coffee prices.

Later, in the middle of the 20th century, the popular drink spread and found its way to the rest of Europe, Britain and even the United States. Although it is worth noting that its distribution in the United States is mainly attributed to the invention of cappuccino and latte drinks that are based on espresso and were especially suited to the tastes of the British and Americans.

Today, it is hard to imagine our lives without the invention of the espresso machine and it is a popular product in the homes of millions of coffee lovers worldwide.
